About the Role
We’re seeking a dedicated Catering Manager to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to the unique dietary needs of our aged care residents. Working within the strengthen standards, amazing meals and in house cooking play a critical role in the quality of life of our residents. This role is ideal for someone empathetic, adaptable, and committed to excellence in food service.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare and cook daily meals that meet individual dietary requirements, including texture-modified options.
- Plan and rotate menus in consultation with the Service Manager and residents.
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in line with regulatory requirements.
- Manage food purchasing, storage, and usage within budget guidelines.
- Foster a safe and respectful kitchen environment, adhering to Safe Work Practices.
Who We’re Looking For
- Qualified Chef with a minimum Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) or equivalent.
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
- Strong understanding of HACCP & food safety legislation including NSW Food Act & Guidelines for Vulnerable Persons.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in commercial kitchens, experience in aged care or healthcare settings is highly regarded.
- Experience with dietary needs, nutrition requirements, and modified diets.
- Ability to lead, train, and develop staff across a diverse team.
- Familiarity with cook-fresh and cook-chill methodologies.
- Strong understanding of dietary controls and texture-modified food preparation.
- Excellent communication, time management, problem‑solving, and conflict‑resolution skills.
