NT - Financial Counsellor
Benefits of this role:

Some of the key areas of your role include:
- Supporting clients experiencing financial hardship, debt, housing stress, and other complex financial challenges.
- Conducting financial assessments and help clients understand their options to make informed financial decisions.
- Developing tailored plans to improve financial resilience and long-term wellbeing.
- Providing financial counselling and support through face-to-face appointments, phone consultations, education programs and outreach visits to remote communities across East Arnhem.
- Advocating on behalf of clients with creditors, service providers, and other stakeholders.
Although you'll be based in a remote community, there's a commercial airport offering regular flights to/from Darwin and connections to the rest of Australia, making it easy to travel and visit family and friends. There is also road access, which is mostly sealed, and having a car makes getting around simple. The town has all the essentials for day-to-day living, including supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, schools, sporting facilities, healthcare services, beaches and plenty of recreational opportunities. Outside of work, you'll enjoy access to some of Australia's best fishing, camping, boating, and outdoor adventures.
To be eligible you must:
- Have Australian working rights.
- Financial Counsellor with a Diploma of Financial Counselling and current membership (or eligibility for membership) with a recognised Financial Counselling Association.
- Financial Capability Worker currently undertaking studies towards becoming a Financial Counsellor and looking to develop your skills in a diverse, supportive environment.
- Experience working with vulnerable or disadvantaged populations.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel to remote communities, including overnight stays when required.
- NT Working with Children (Ochre Card).
- Current National Police Check (within last 3 months).
- Current driver's licence.
If you're interested but you're unable to relocate to the Northern Territory permanently that's ok, there is scope for a 6-12 month fixed term contract.
