Clinical Services Continence Lead
Clinical Services Continence Lead
Lead the clinical standard in continence care across one of SA's most respected aged care providers.
Resthaven has been delivering exceptional aged care to South Australians since 1935. As a financially independent, not-for-profit organisation we provide the full spectrum of aged care services with genuine commitment to dignity, trust, and respect.
We're looking for an experienced Registered Nurse and continence specialist to step into a senior clinical leadership role that genuinely shapes the standard of care across our residential and community services.
The Role
As Clinical Services Continence Lead, you'll work within a Clinical Services Team, reporting to the Executive Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll drive evidence-based continence practice, lead a team of Continence Nurse Advisors, and work alongside senior clinicians and program managers to deliver measurable improvements in resident and client outcomes.
You'll be the go-to clinical expert for complex continence and catheter management across both residential and community settings, with a remit that spans practice development, audit, education, risk, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading clinical review and development of continence and catheter management practices, policies, and protocols
- Mentoring and professionally overseeing Continence Nurse Advisors, including performance reviews and education planning
- Assessing and managing residents and clients with complex continence needs, and providing detailed clinical reports and recommendations
- Designing and delivering continence education and workshops across the organisation
- Supporting accreditation preparation and quality audit processes
- Contributing to clinical governance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
- Partnering with Registered Nurses across sites to develop evidence-based continence management plans
What You'll Bring
Essential:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Advanced continence assessment and management skills with experience across older adult populations
- Sound understanding of clinical governance frameworks
- Strong leadership capability that supports, mentors, and hold accountability across a clinical team
- Excellent communication and report writing skills, with the ability to engage confidently from frontline staff through to senior management
- Ability to manage competing priorities independently, with flexibility to travel across Resthaven sites
- Current South Australian driver's licence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Desirable:
- Post-graduate qualification in a relevant clinical field
- Nursing specialist qualification
- Knowledge of current Aged Care Standards and funding frameworks
