Campus Manager | Westmead Campus

Lead the future of Retirement Living at Uniting's Westmead Campus

Westmead | Full-time

At Uniting, our purpose is simple yet powerful: to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice.

Every day, we support people to live with dignity, independence and connection. Guided by our values of Compassion, Respect, Imagination and Boldness, we are looking for an experienced, commercially minded and people-focused leader to manage our integrated Westmead Campus.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead one of Uniting’s most significant multi-service campuses, bringing together Retirement Living, Residential Aged Care, Home and Community Care, Early Learning and shared services to create an exceptional experience for residents, customers, families and employees.

At the heart of this role is the leadership and management of a vibrant Retirement Living community. You will play a key role in creating a village environment where residents feel connected, supported, engaged and proud to call Westmead home.

About the Role

Uniting is entering an exciting new phase in Retirement Living, bringing to life a refreshed vision for resident wellbeing, community connection and exceptional customer experiences at our flagship Parkmeadows Westmead Campus.

As part of a significant transformation program, we are looking for an experienced and passionate leader who is driven to improve the lives of those around them. This is a rare opportunity to take on a first-of-its-kind role within Uniting and help establish a new benchmark for integrated campus leadership.

Building on resident feedback, agreed service improvements and the work already underway, you will help shape a thriving retirement living community, lead innovative lifestyle and wellbeing initiatives, activate community spaces and support residents to age in place with dignity, independence and connection.

You will work closely with the Head of Sydney West to translate strategy into action, lead dedicated multidisciplinary Retirement Living teams and partner with service leads across the campus. You will strengthen community partnerships and drive the success of the Retirement Living village as part of a vibrant integrated campus.

This permanent, dedicated Westmead role offers the opportunity to focus fully on one of Uniting’s most valued integrated campuses. The role provides a unique platform to influence best practice, demonstrate what exceptional integrated campus leadership can look like and help shape how this model may evolve across the organisation.

The successful candidate will lead the staged implementation of the approved service uplift, ensuring new roles and services are introduced in line with resident needs, village growth and operational readiness. You will have the opportunity to turn an ambitious vision into a sustainable operating model and create a lasting legacy for residents, staff and the wider Uniting community.

This hands-on leadership role requires retirement living experience, operational excellence, commercial acumen, strong relationship-building skills and a genuine passion for creating communities where people feel they belong.

For a leader looking for the opportunity to create, influence and lead something truly distinctive, this is a role unlike any other at Uniting.

What You Will Be Responsible For

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the integrated Westmead Campus, ensuring seamless collaboration across Retirement Living, Home and Community Care, Residential Aged Care, Early Learning and shared services.
  • Lead and manage the Retirement Living village, creating a welcoming, connected and vibrant community where residents feel supported and valued.
  • Create an outstanding resident and customer experience through responsive service, proactive engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Build trusted relationships with residents, families, prospective residents and employees.
  • Drive occupancy, enquiry conversion, sales support and resident onboarding through strong relationship-building and community engagement.
  • Strengthen the village lifestyle experience by supporting resident engagement, events, community participation and a strong sense of belonging.
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, inclusion and service excellence.
  • Manage campus operations, financial performance, budgeting and resource allocation to support long-term sustainability.
  • Partner with Property and shared service teams to ensure the campus and village are safe, compliant, well-maintained and welcoming.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Retirement Villages Act, Residential Tenancies Act and aged care requirements.
  • Lead emergency preparedness, risk management and workplace health and safety across the campus.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, staff, contractors and external stakeholders to create a connected and vibrant campus community.

About You

You are a confident, approachable and collaborative leader who enjoys working with people and leading in complex environments. You understand that a successful retirement living community is about more than operations. It is about trust, relationships, service, lifestyle, connection and belonging.

You will bring:

  • Significant leadership experience managing complex operations, ideally across retirement living, aged care, health, hospitality, property, community services or customer-focused environments.
  • Experience leading or supporting a retirement village, resident community or similar service environment.
  • A strong focus on resident experience, customer service and community engagement.
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary or matrix teams.
  • Strong commercial and financial management skills, including budgeting and business performance.
  • Experience driving occupancy, customer engagement, resident onboarding and operational excellence.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage residents, families, staff, prospective residents and external stakeholders.
  • A sound understanding of the Retirement Villages Act, Residential Tenancies Act and relevant regulatory frameworks, or the ability to quickly develop this expertise.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and influencing skills.
  • Experience leading change, improving services and delivering strategic initiatives.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in business, management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Most importantly, you will bring a genuine passion for supporting older people to live well, remain connected and feel part of a community they are proud to call home.
