Curis Recruitment is proud to be working with a well-established Aboriginal Medical Service in regional Queensland to help them find a permanent Health Promotion Officer - Cancer Care.
Are you an experienced Registered or Enrolled Nurse with a passion for health promotion and improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities? This role may be the one you are looking for.
Working alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will combine your clinical knowledge with health promotion and community engagement to deliver culturally safe initiatives focused on cancer awareness, prevention, screening and early intervention.

- Deliver culturally appropriate cancer health promotion and education programs
- Promote cancer prevention, screening, early detection and healthy lifestyles
- Build strong and trusting relationships with community members and key stakeholders
- Develop, implement and evaluate health promotion initiatives
- Support improved cancer awareness and health outcomes across the communities you support
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Provide support and supervision to a Health Promotion Trainee

- Current AHPRA registration with no restrictions
- RN or EN experience ideally within primary health, community health or a similar environment
- Experience in health promotion, cancer care, community education or community engagement is desirable
- A genuine passion for improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- A commitment to culturally safe, patient-centred and holistic healthcare
- A current driver's licence
- Must have full Australian working rights (Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, a valid Working Visa, or New Zealand Citizenship).
