Remote Area Nurse | $85 per hour base rate | Northern Territory

Curis Recruitment is excited to partner with this fantastic Aboriginal Health Service based in the Northern Territory to help them find an experienced Remote Area Nurse to join their team.

Job Details

• $85 PH Monday to Friday day rate (6.30am to 6.30pm)
• $95 PH Monday to Saturday afterhours (after 6.30pm Monday to Friday or Saturday)
• $158 PH Sunday
• Other penalties apply for overtime, on call etc
• Minimum 4 weeks and up to 6 weeks available
• Fully furnished housing provided
• Return travel within Australia provided

You will be based on Elcho Island, known to its traditional owners as Galiwinku. An island based off the coast of Arnhem Land, in the Northern Territory.

Men's Health Remote Area Nurse - 8 September to 18 October
Remote Area Nurse - 4 September to 13 October
Remote Area Nurse - Child Health - ASAP to 29 September

You will be working in the East Arnhem Land part of the Northern Territory. As part of your role as Remote Area Nurse you will mentor students and Aboriginal Health Practitioners (AHPs), support AHPs as the primary health carers within the community, and work to build stronger communities together with the wider team.

You will be working for an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service who are committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. They provide culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards.

In order to be eligible, you must:

• Have an understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Yolŋu people living in remote settings.
• Current AHPRA registration with no restrictions
• NT Working with children's check
• Current police check with no restrictions
• Current Remote Emergency Care Course certificate and/or Advanced Life Support certificate; a current accredited immunisation certificate (recognised in the NT); a Remote Pharmacotherapeutic Certificate (or equivalent);
• Manual driver’s license
• 3 – 5 years post-graduate experience with advanced clinical skills and competencies applicable to remote settings (including the ability to triage, work independently, and participate in afterhours emergency calls and First Response).
• You must be willing to travel in small charter planes, and the ability to drive a 4WD will be looked upon favorably.
