The Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Manager of Aboriginal Health, you will lead the delivery of high-quality primary healthcare services across the organisation.
This is a hands-on senior management role combining clinical leadership, operational management, workforce development, clinical governance and continuous quality improvement.
You will work closely with senior clinical and operational leaders to ensure services remain consistent, culturally responsive and focused on improving health outcomes for Aboriginal clients and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and operational oversight across Primary Health services
- Support and develop senior nursing and Aboriginal Health Practitioner teams
- Ensure consistent service delivery across multiple clinic locations
- Drive clinical governance, accreditation and quality improvement initiatives
- Monitor service performance, policies, procedures and legislative compliance
- Lead workforce planning and support continuity of services
- Conduct performance reviews and support the development of direct reports
- Identify opportunities to strengthen clinical systems, patient outcomes and staff wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, Aboriginal health, outreach and operational leaders
- Ensure services remain aligned with funding, contractual and organisational requirements
- Champion culturally safe and responsive healthcare across all areas of service delivery
This opportunity would suit an experienced Primary Health Manager, Clinical Services Manager, Nurse Manager or senior healthcare leader looking for a role with genuine scope and influence.
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 3 years post-graduate nursing experience
- Strong leadership and people management experience
- Experience within primary healthcare, community health or a clinical service environment
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality and compliance
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage service delivery
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- A practical and collaborative leadership style
- Experience within Aboriginal health or an ACCHO environment will be highly regarded
