🌟 Disability Support Worker - Ongoing Part-Time Role

2 x 3-Hour Shifts Per Week | Community Access & Capacity Building

Are you energetic, proactive, thick-skinned and looking for a role where no two days are the same?

We're looking for an enthusiastic Disability Support Worker to support a young man with disability to achieve his social, health and independence goals through regular community-based supports.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys being active, getting out into the community, building genuine relationships and helping someone work towards greater independence and confidence.

About the Role

You'll be supporting the participant for two regular 3-hour shifts each week.

Supports may include:

✅ Community access and social activities

✅ Building confidence and independence

✅ Working towards health and wellbeing goals

✅ Domestic tasks and everyday life skills

✅ Encouraging community participation

✅ Supporting routines and positive outcomes

The ideal support worker will be proactive and able to think on their feet, bringing energy, positivity and initiative to every shift.

This role would particularly suit someone who:

✔ Doesn't take things personally

✔ Can stay calm in challenging situations

✔ Is comfortable managing unpredictable conversations

✔ Has a positive, non-judgemental attitude

✔ Can maintain professional boundaries while still building a great relationship

Phoenix has Tourette's Syndrome and may occasionally use swearing, inappropriate language or socially unexpected comments related to his disability. The successful applicant will be able to remain calm, professional, non-reactive and maintain a positive sense of humour.

Essential Requirements

✅ Experience supporting people with disability

✅ Experience supporting participants with behaviours of concern

✅ Understanding of mental health challenges

✅ NDIS Worker Screening Check

✅ Working With Children Check

✅ Current First Aid & CPR

✅ Current Driver's Licence

✅ Reliable and insured vehicle

✅ Excellent spoken English and communication skills

✅ Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with participants, families and the OFR team
