Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA) is a not-for-profit organization working for people with spinal cord injury (SCI). We are passionate about continually improving our service offerings and driving innovation to provide maximum opportunity for those lives affected by traumatic injury. With an objective to carry out and support the organization in the achievement of its vision “A society without barriers for people with SCI”.

SCIA was founded by people with Spinal Cord Injuries. We employ and support SCI disabilities and at present they make up 33% of our staff.
We are a member based organisation, with more than 2,000 members that include people with disability, their families, carers and professionals in the sector.

As a NDIS provider, we are committed to the ongoing improvement of our processes and procedures to ensure that our service delivery complies with the National Practice Principles and NDIS Safeguards commission.

SCIA & NeuroMoves are now proudly part of the Royal Rehab Group which is a leading Australian provider of specialist neurological rehabilitation and community-based therapy services.


About the role..
An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate leader based in our Mascot office to help deliver SCIA’s expanded EmployAbility program, funded by icare, supporting people living with traumatic brain injury (TBI) into meaningful employment. This fixed‑term role (15–22.5 hours per week until 30 March 2027) operates in a job‑share arrangement with the current Program Manager, coordinating program delivery, strengthening participant engagement and building pathways into job‑ready opportunities with employer partners and SCIA’s social enterprise.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Program evaluation: Continuously review and refine the program based on participant and stakeholder feedback.
  • Working group facilitation: Lead and support working groups that contribute to program development.
  • Program implementation: Oversee the rollout and promotion of the expanded program to reach the intended TBI cohort.
  • Employer partnerships: Support the development of employment pathways with partner organisations.
  • Monitoring and evaluation: Work with the research provider to implement the Monitoring and Evaluation Plan.


About you..

You’re driven to create meaningful employment pathways and take pride in delivering programs that build confidence, capability and independence. You excel in collaborative settings, communicate with clarity and empathy, and apply the initiative needed to design and deliver programs that create real, lasting impact.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Degree in Occupational Rehabilitation, Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or similar.
  • Strong, confident and clear communication
  • Program development skills designing or improving innovative programs.
  • Operational capability to turn program concepts into effective delivery.
  • Strong Relationship building at all levels.
  • Independent working style to manage priorities autonomously.
  • TBI and RTW experience supporting people with TBI and delivering return‑to‑work programs
  • Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and participant needs.
  • Demonstrated success meeting KPIs in employment‑focused programs.
